Run often. Run long. But never outrun your joy of running. This is absolutely my motto for running and all forms of movement. There’s a million positive benefits to movement but it’s the joy that keeps you going.
Breaking The Habit: Running is always my “go to” but I’m learning to cross train more frequently. What do you guys do to cross train?
This was a slow run day with my fur babies, and once it got too hot they found the water. (We all swam, hot as heck!) it got to be 109* and I am thankful we made it home after some swimming and @geocaching Roux #yellowlab is getting super good at swimming and Sam #gsp is old school getting it on! @procompression@altrarunning@caterpylaces@kurgo (need recommendations on swim vests for the babes)
Wasn’t feeling it this morning so just got my 2 miles done. Figured I’d just switch up my rest day, but when I got home decided to give it a go and knocked out a 5k. Trying to get all my planned mileage for the month done plus squeeze in extra here and there so while on vacation I don’t have to do a long run 😜
Sometimes incorporating something fun or silly makes a task approachable, less intimidating. Today, for example, I could not motivate myself to get out of bed and run this morning. What a mistake that was... All morning I didn’t feel like doing anything productive. But then, I saw these amazing @procompression socks in my overnight bag at work and chuckled to myself at how hilarious and fun these are...then I thought get dressed and go make someone’s day. So I did. 5k later and I was energized, happy and ready to tackle whatever came along. And I made some people smile at work. Midday log: Second workout of the day post work was slow going and took extra mental push to finish. The body is sore and fatigued from the new regimen but got it checked off the list!
