Another great selection from @babywordplay! We read this only once or twice but yesterday when I handed it to Juni, she looked at the cover and said "down." And then turned a few pages and kept saying "down" whenever the word appeared.
Ever since I read I am Reading! by Kathy Collins I became a believer that children are readers the second they are turning pages and interacting with a book. It taught me to never minimize all of the things little ones do with books before they are decoding words.
Seeing my daughter recognize this book, it's context and even say a word means she'll recognize the word quicker when she does start to put letter sounds together. It is so fascinating to me how reading can be innate (and not always a learned skill) if they are doing it all the time! This is the magic of reading aloud 💕
