Kanye’s Ye album was a solid bounce back album. LOP was a bit disappointing. And as a more unexpected drop, this was a very solid album. I feel as if since people see Kanye as crazy and strange, this album gets looked as not an album but Kanye trying to make a statement. While he is trying to fix some of the crazy shit he has said, it is more and album for the listeners and not an album for people trying to scrutinize him, if you feel me. Best songs were: Yikes, Ghost Town and I Thought About Killing You. Hardest Bars were —————————————— Oh, don't bring that up, that's gon' get me sentimental/You know I'm sensitive, I got a gentle mental/Every time something happen, they want me sent to mental/We had an incident but I cover incidentals
This was from Make No Mistake. This may not be the hardest bars there, but they do help dissect Ye as a person. He did a good job also by putting neither of his singles (Ye vs. The People and Lift Yourself) though I don’t think anyone would have been happy with Lift Yourself being on the album. This was a solid 7.5/10 album. There were a few too many lines that were corny such as ——————————————Let me hit it raw like fuck the outcome/Ay, none of us would be here without cum
That and some weird samples used were my only problems with the album (especially since I’m a producer myself I found them strange and not necessary. They reminded me too much of Lift Yourself.). Other than some of those smaller details the album was very good with some truly unique and good beats and features (except for Ty Dolla $ign). What also helped the album was not being overhyped (*cough* *scorpion* *cough*). Overall a very solid album, worth a listen.
