PLEASE SWIPE AND SEE ALL THE PICS.
Happy Sunday to all. This is what FB showed me as memory - 9 years ago!!! This was clicked at the wedding of dear friends, a doctor couple’s son.I am in an off white Kanjivaram with a maroon border and probably one of the eatliest Kanjivaram sarees to have embroidery on them. I am also posting my recent pics in the same sari, worn to a wedding last year. It shows the details very well.
It is an off white with maroon border silk Kanjivaram with hand embroidery on it. It has sequibs too.
It came with a matching blouse.
The sari was a gift from Vinod. For new followers,I must add that my husband Vinod loves to buy sarees and has great taste.Till last year, I maintained that 95% of my sarees have been bought by him. However, now I changed it to 90% because in the last 1.5 years, the number of gifts from friends through social media, has been amazing ,especially IG. Years ago, on an assignment in Chennai he picked it up on the 1st day of the shooting. For the next 3 days he could not stop raving about his purchase. He tried describing it but I couldn't imagine that it would be this awesome. In fact during one of his calls he was so excited n said" Itni khoobsoorat sari hai ki mera dil kar raha hai ki main isay odh kar baith jaoon". That was tooo cute.
In the recent picture I am wearing our Tamil mangalsutra " Tali" , typical Tamil jhumkas ( jimkis) with my late mom's diamond tops, a lovely chunky bracelet picked up from Dubai years ago.
I love my gorgeous maroon velvet potli with beautiful dabka embroidery to match that on the sari and blouse.
Bindi was handcrafted with maroon liquid -a Tamil style.
