I'll start with everyone's favourite current Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Trudeau represents the Liberal Party, I would relate this party to American progressive democrats like Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren. In 2015, Liberals won 184 seats, Conservatives with 99, NDP with 44, Bloc Québécois with 10, and Green with 1. The Liberal Party, winning the most seats, elected Justin Trudeau as Prime Minister of Canada. As Prime Minister, he has not accomplished as much as he promised to when campaigning, though the same can be said for a large number of politicians. Trudeau was fairly young (43) and represented what many Canadians thought would be "real change.". Canadians were getting tired of Stephen Harper. Trudeau, who many people saw as Harper's Polar opposite gave a since of positive hope to voters. The NDP dis not have a very strong presence in this election, I would say that is because of their Leader who was of course running for PM at the time was not a very charismatic person and actually resembled Harper. Justin Trudeau is also the son of one of the most famous Prime Ministers in Canadian history, Pierre Trudeau. As Prime Minister, Trudeau claimed to focus on lowering taxes for the middle class, legalizing marijuana, LGBTQ rights, allowing more refugees into the country, and environmentalism. In my opinion, he hasn't really kept his campaign promises and has focused on issues that don't really matter when compared to some other issues Canada is facing. I will also add that Trudeau gained much worldwide notoriety during and after his campaign, due to his progressive policy. I would like to know what you think, Is Trudeau doing a great job as Prime Minister?
