for a long time now (because I'm so active on social media about the cause of feminism) - i get a lot of opinions about, 'how' to do right. how to be a good activist.
but then i remain patient with myself and recognize that activism can be one of two ways:
one, is dismantling the oppressive systems, structures and ideas that create these inequalities - so raising awareness, calling it out, discussing it are all examples of this.
two, is building from the ground up, the kind of progressive systems, organizations and opportunities to equalize the playing field.
one is not greater than the other, and both are just as necessary if we can ever hope to create change. i know @pandeydhruv and have worked with him in the past. i know his passion for work & his worship of football and to see this initiative with #justforkicks to take football to girls in rural India makes my heart leap. I've donated what I can, I hope you will too - no amount is too small.
head over to @pandeydhruv's page for the link & more details. the fight for equality is a long and hard fought battle - when we join hands in our activism, in our initiatives and support each other, it gives me a little bit of hope that this is possible - that all this will finally be worth it one day.
please leave a comment below if & when you donate so i can thank you for it! 💕🌸
