That time I looked in the mirror, smiled, said “I love you” and meant it.
Just me in my bikini doing the same homework I gave to my yoga students.
The other day I talked about LOVE at the end of class.
I told my students to look in the mirror, really look at themselves, and LOVE what they saw, how they felt, who they ARE.
Not to worry about “flaws”
Not to get hung up on “necessary improvements”
Not to place “conditions” on self-acceptance
Just to truly appreciate where they were, how they are, and how they looked at THAT EXACT moment in time.
And I promised them that if they did this, daily, and truly accepted and loved themselves perfectly imperfect as they are, that MAGIC would happen.
Because when you love yourself, madly deeply unconditionally, your heart expands with love for others and the world around you.
—Your perspective shifts to a more positive state because you no longer criticize yourself.
—You make better decisions because you see how your choices affect you.
—You appreciate your blessings because you understand how much abundance you truly have.
—You recognize your worth and contribution to this world because you realize you have value.
—You stop worry about acceptance because you know you already belong.
—You enjoy all the pleasures life has to offer, because you believe that you deserve to be happy.
So your mission, should you choose to accept it, it to strip down to your bathing suit or skivvies, take a good long look at yourself, smile widely and say “I Love You”. And then repeat as many times as necessary until you truly believe it.
And then snap a pic, tag @samanthaeveyoga and #passionfilledlife #withsmiles so I can cheer you on in this amazing perspective shift!
I love all of you my beautiful tribe!
See you on the mat…with smiles…
