BlacKkKlansman = (4.5/5)
A film that will simultaneously keep you entertained, at the same time gets the chills and fright of recognition; BlacKkKlansman is also thought-provoking, a slapstick comedy with a whole lot of deep insights and message for a slap in our government’s faces today. Director Spike Lee setting the tone really well, balanced with outstanding actors; Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, not a fan of Topher Grace but he was great in this movie, and the newcomer John David Washington, son of Denzel. This is a great movie, however the ending is quite an issue for me. Not spoiling anything but the ending felt a little awkward.. I know how important that is to be included by Spike Lee and I understand that but it didn’t quite work for me. Nonetheless that is just a nitpick and not a big issue because this movie blew my mind big time. A rollercoaster of emotions where it will make you laugh out loud and get stunned silently as Spike Lee was able to ratchet up the tension and release it in hilariously satisfying ways. Definitely a must see.
