Have always wanted to try Jollibee—probably the most famous fast food chain in the world of business case review. I remember my professor talking in class, telling us how in just a short time it completely overthrew McD in the Philippines, although it started as a small fried chicken joint. Then I read about it in my MBA case study assignment, learning about many factors why it could reach this success. Thus it can be said that I knew everything about Jollibee, but knew nothing about the actual taste.
I had never known Singapore had one, until I stumbled upon it while finding for a place to rest my aching legs from walking too much. (Fyi, this random food court I was talking about at Lucky Plaza has all sorts of Filipinos food, not just Jollibee).
Unfortunately the sucess on paper did not reflect on my tongue. The meat was okay I guess, just like any other fried chicken, but everything was flavored with this overwhelming MSG-taste, which felt like eating out of a bag of Royco mixed with white pepper...especially the sauce, you gotta try it to believe it.
Well anyway there is also a possibility that my review doesn’t do it justice since I didn’t try it in the Philippines. At least for now my curiosity has been curbed.
