Some interiors from Peacefield, or the Old House at Peace field, the home of Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams. The first photograph is of the dining room, including a portrait of George Washington by Edward Savage. Washington considered it his greatest likeness. Next is the downstairs study, which was part of the original structure of the house. My photograph of the parlor, which was part of Abigail's improvements to the house, is a little blurry but I wanted to include it to show the difference between this room and the rest of the first floor. Next is the study above the parlor, also part of the extension. The upstairs hallways is filled with books (be still my heart). Finally, an up close of the stairwell and upstairs wallpaper.
