I cannot believe this shit; was fine yesterday and woke up sick as a dog. Fever, chills, nausea, scratchy throat and croakin' like a frog. I swear by Thera-flu (with a shot of something good; usually Johnny Black but I am out) and a Z-pack, which I will pick up later tonight from the pharmacy. It best be outta here by Saturday 'cuz I have shit to do!😉 I tried Instacart (grocery home delivery service) today, which is similiar to Peapod in Westchester. The biggest difference I noticed is that, where Peapod was strictly Stop 'n Shop, Instacart allows one to select either Wegmans, TOPS or Price Rite (I think that was the third option...never been in one). Obvi, I chose Wegmans. Yes, the items are more expensive than if one goes straight to the store, but that is the cost of convenience. For each item ordered, a specific alternate can be selected should the item be out of stock or one can select no alternate or for the personal shopper to select an item as similiar as possible. I ordered a large container of garlic (to make sauce tomorrow as I thawed the meat out over the weekend); I received a text from my shopper letting me know it was OOS and the item she was subbing, which I thought was very considerate. After I received my delivery, only then was I asked if I wanted to tip my shopper as well as feedback on my experience. When my shopper, Linda, delivered my order, she was very well groomed, neatly dressed, affable and asked right away how I was feeling as she said she noted the Thera-flu, saltines and chicken soup. That was a kind inquiry, not invasive and indicated attention to detail.
Anyone who knows me knows that I must feel like some kind of shit if I order my groceries. I'll tell ya, Instacart is a great option for when you simply are not up to getting to the market but require some items (including pet food). Sure, there is a price for convenience but this is not a service one would use all of the time; more like once in a blue moon. Instacart is fairly new to ROC and I can see it being a big hit. I would absolutely use it again, if needed.👍
