Many love macadamia nuts as much as we do.
It is actually one of the most popular varieties of nuts, due to their rich flavor and high nutrient profile. However, what’s even more valuable is the macadamia nut oil that can be extracted from these nuts for a number of uses.
It all began around the 1850’s, when a German-Australian physician and botanist called Ferdinand von Mueller discovered the macadamia nut and decided to name the genus after a colleague. His name was John Macadam.
One of the most important antioxidants found macadamia nut oil is known as “squalene”, is somewhat rare and has a valuable impact on our skin. Squalene is a naturally occurring antioxidant in our body, but adding more through macadamia nut oil can help reduce oxidative stress on the body’s fats and the skin, helping to prevent wrinkles, age spots, help control sebum production, and other signs of aging.
