Rain, rain, go away โ˜”๏ธ๐ŸŽถ 6 easy miles this morning with 4 min run, 1 min walk. Body is feeling better every day but itโ€™ll be another week of taking it easy. Itโ€™s less than ideal and I get frustrated at times, but I know this is a much better route than pushing my body over the top and hurting myself even more. Iโ€™m just thankful that I can still run! Hey guys! ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‹๐ŸปI promise Iโ€™m still here!โ˜บ๏ธ This week was extremely stressful, but Iโ€™m happy to say that I passed my Nurse Practitioner boards yesterday and Iโ€™m now officially Jillian Carp MSN, CRNP!! ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽ‰ Itโ€™s been such a crazy journey and itโ€™s only getting started ๐Ÿ˜ณ

That being said, this week is another cut back week. I had some pretty bad hip flexor pain after my run Saturday so I took Monday and Tuesday off to only swim. I ran Wednesday and today! Iโ€™m feeling SO much better, but with all the stress, my body is exhausted. I was supposed to do 4 tempo miles today but ended up only 2. Iโ€™m completely ok with that โ˜บ๏ธthroughout this training cycle Iโ€™ve learned that listening to my body is so much more important than over doing it. Iโ€™m just thankful that I can run!!! I may not be fast, but I WILL cross that marathon finish line in November! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

I am so, so, SO, proud of this race! Did I PR? Nope, and that's OK! It was probably one of the hardest half marathons I've ever ran due to the atrocious heat ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅAt mile 4-5 I knew I couldn't go 100% and so I played it smart! During Monday's speed work I would ask myself "how hard will be too hard?", "when will pain be too much pain?", "how hard am I willing to push myself?" I don't think I have answers to any of those questions because there will always be new challenges, new kinds of hard, and new kinds of pain. I only keep moving forward hoping that good changes will come. I never do regret a run where I push through the pain and push through the places in my brain that I didn't think I could get through. It's all totally worth it in the end ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ
