3 years ago and 100kg heavier did I think I would ever run?
Was today a struggle to get out of bed?
Today did I just want to do minimum?
Is recovery after plastics hard?
Have I lost a lot of stamina after having so much time off from cardio?
Am I going to make excuses?
Did I let the thoughts in my head take over and let me submit to my own doubts?
I have a lot of training and preparing to do for my #10km run at the end of the month for @runmelbourne
Today I had a shorter time span to work with than I do on a Saturday so instead of talking myself down I decided to do as much as I could in 45 mins, this included a 3.3km warmup/run and 1km on the elliptical machine at my friendly and always motivating @jettsclydenorth and @sutherland_fitness getting me on zombie run!
did I wanna give up and lie on the floor? Yes but I kept going, knowing I have others around me doing and preparing for the same run it gives me the motivation I need to keep going and I owe it to my charity @ruokday to push and do as much as I can.
I’m very proud this morning, I managed to do the 3.3km in 27 mins and the elliptical with 1km in under 10 mins. Setting myself new targets is refreshing and also highly motivating when I want to continue to push myself as much as I can. Today was a good day to #getupandmove
Whenever you find yourself doubting how far you can go; just remember how far you have come. Remember everything you have faced, all the battles you have won, and all the fears you have overcome.
