We are always told to never discuss religion or politics in civilized conversation. And that is considered good etiquette. I generally believe that declaration because it is well-mannered and respectful of others' beliefs and faiths. (And here comes the but) But, as a being who shares freely - on social media especially - I wanted to share this as a person of strong faith in Christianity who, admittedly, has struggled with the concept of Jesus. I always speak to God in my prayers and have never felt truly comfortable with Jesus. Today's devotional in #JesusIsCalling was a monumental change in that perception. As I read and whispered "Jesus" I felt an instant peace and calm presence from the inside out. And that is why I am sharing it here. I am a proponent of, and speak freely about, the calming effects of alcohol, xanax and therapy, so why wouldn't I share the simplest and most accessible form of peace and calm that I know with you who honor me with your interest in my daily adventures?
