Shock Treatment (1981)

No wonder why I’ve never heard of this sequel before. How is this even a follow up to The Rocky Horror Picture Show? It’s completely irrelevant to anything besides Janet and Brad... played by different actors. I was kind of pissed off on how shitty this one turned out. I can see people hating Rocky Horror with a passion because I myself have mixed feelings over it, but this is a whole different ballpark. I didn’t understand what the hell was going on practically the whole time. The first five to ten minutes seemed pretty promising because of how cool it really could’ve been, but it avoided everything that could’ve been entertaining. They become contestants on a game show do you know how many different things you can do with that? It went to waste because I didn’t even want to watch anymore after half an hour, I saw enough. The only factors I liked were the songs and the production design. The songs barely even made sense, but that goes for Rocky Horror too so I’ll let it slide. I really liked the colors used because it made everything stand out more and seem unique. It looked like an orgy of Kubrick and Wes Anderson’s color schemes. In the end, however, I wasn’t fascinated with Shock Treatment. It was hard to make it through the whole thing, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, especially if you hated Rocky Horror. 2/10.
