The secret to change isn't fighting the old, it's giving all of your energy and attention to building the new. What you tell yourself every morning when you wake up should be the most important part of your day.
Affirmations are one way I channel my energy attention on where I want to go and who I want to be. Instead of beating yourself up for your bad habits or for not being where you want to be (yet), try saying things like :
I can do anything I put my mind to
Anything I want I can have
I am powerful
I am strong
Nothing can stop me
I am the architect of my life
I can achieve greatness
And so on... what you feed your mind should be more important than what you feed your muscles. Train yourself to conquer your thoughts and the rest becomes easy.
