The last day of my #72hourfast 🤘😃
I could have ended  my fasting protocol at 11:01 pm last night.  Instead, I decided to wait until the morning  because I wanted to have a feast!😃 And consuming large meals at night time goes against the circadian rhythm ( your biological clock) and could lead to some health problems. So, here I am 80 hours fasted. 👊
Btw, I didn't do a water fast this time. I have done a water fast before, and it was very challenging to keep up with every day activities with such a strict fasting regime.
So, this time around I allowed bone broth,  #myspicedcoffee , a few probiotic drinks ( with 1g of carb per serving), a lot of herbal tea ( thanks to  @berkleybowl), and some medicinal mushroom tea (#reishi and #chaga). I was surprised how much energy and mental clarity I had throughout my fast. I was able to keep up with all my regular activities. I had a relatively intense  workout (bjj), I went to work two out of three days, I kept up with my chores,  and I walked an average of 17,000 steps a day. The sense of calmness was unbelievable! I found myself being resilient. I could attribute that to a cold water immersion and sauna sessions I did throughout my fasting protocol.
Anyway,  it is evident that fasting could be a fantastic and powerful tool to control blood glucose,  reset hormone levels,  and improve your gut health.

So this week ended up being: -46 hour fast - two OMADS -42 hours presently and counting.

Lost 3.5 lbs which I am sure water is involved but more interested in the 4 week average to see if this routine is helping me get to the "freezer". I like the idea of OMAD on my shorter fasting days and getting two longer days in.

I feel great and my holiday weight is gone and my tummy has deflated. -
I played competitive pickleball on all days and 3 hours on my extended fast day with no problems. -
Cannot WAIT to see where this takes me. Lots of great prayer time really helps keep stress down and get closer to God. -
-So all in all a success came out of my disappointing start.

Yesterday's meal plan

I woke up in the mood for a fast. And since fasting is 100% mental for me, I gotta strike while the iron is hot.

Now before your right me off as nuts, know that the first time this intermittent fasting stuff was ever ment to me, my reaction was "That is the STUPIDEST thing I have ever heard, starve yourself good grief" and I immediately wrote it off.
Then it just kept coming up.
I put about 4-6 months of research and reading into this bogus fasting idea before I tried it. And now I'm totally behind the science of it. And to be 100% honest weight-loss isn't my #1 goal with fasting. It's repairing my super shitty insulin resistance.
I did alot of fasting in the beginning of 2017 and saw some pretty cool things happen. However there is SO much information to tell you, I'll explain it all as we go.
But for now if you're curious I recommend looking up Dr. Jason Fung and the Intensive Dietary Management program (Im a long distance client for almost a year). They also have a podcast with lots of information The Obesity Code.

Don't write me off yet. I'm not crazy I swear.
