Some very old tomb in the woods near the caste ruins looks like it came straight from Spirited Away and other Miyazaki’s movies. And I know better not to come closer 🙈😊 #oldtomb #spooky #spookywoods #spiritedaway #japanesetomb #miyazaki #ghibliinspired #okinawajungle #okilife #gaijinlife #ghiblifan

Trudged through the forest, reached the peak of mt Faber and climbed the gates of a cafe to get in. Because walking on concrete pavements is too cliche. #unmarkedtrails #keppelhillreservoir #seahimbunker #japanesetomb #wwiiswimmingpool

There are burial mounds everywhere in Miyazaki that is rich with ancient myths. Among them, Saitobaru Kofungun is one of the largest groups of burial mounds on a 70-meter-high hill in the east of Saito, Miyazaki. 311 burial grounds of various sizes are scattered across the hill.

Many mysteries of Saitobaru Kofungun remain unsolved to this day such as for whom they were built and for what purpose. One thing we can say for sure is that they were graves of ancient superstars.

The forgotten Japanese tomb on Mount Faber. Situated away from the tourist spots on the jungle slopes of Mount Faber is a tomb of a Japanese engineer. He was despatched to Singapore after its capture from the British & worked in the shipyards. He succumbed to illness due to overwork & died few months after his arrival. The reasons are not clear why he is buried here by the Japanese officers but for now it will stand here as a forgotten figment of World War 2. #singapore #world war2 #Mountfaber #japanesetomb #mitsubishiheavyindustry #japanesearmy
