Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion Review
If you'd told me two months ago I'd be spraying sake on my face and loving it I'd have been like, "lol wut". I'd heard good things about Kiku, but refused to leave my Gollum cave where I lovingly stroked my bottle of Enrpani Booskin (preciousss). Then one day @sokdramatic sent me a decant so I was like "fiiine, I'll try something else."
Hydration, Soothing, Smoothing, and Brightening
As someone who didn't embrace her love of pink until her mid-20s, I really love the color scheme. However, I agree with most that the pump is god awful. I highly recommend decanting to a spray bottle for the optimal experience.
Ingredients (Photo 2):
Taken from CosDNA. The stars are Rice Ferment Filtrate (aka Sake), Arginine, Ceramides, Placenta Extract, and Arbutin. The only acne trigger is Butylene Glycol. TIL: the rice ferment actually contains kojic acid, which is commonly used as a whitening agent!
The lotion itself is milky white and watery thin. My skin drinks this stuff up like crazy, and I feel like it would be a great candidate for the 3- or 7-skin method. The only potential turn-off for people would be the scent. If you don't like the smell of sake, this is NOT the product for you. I may or may not be drinking sake as I write this, so...
I'm a dumb dumb who didn't fully research before testing or else I would have taken before/after shots and held off on new products to test the whitening effect. That said, after a couple weeks I found myself often going, "Is it just me or is my skin tone lighter?" Could be the Kiku, could be one of the other 5 products I added, can't say for sure. I WILL say that this made my skin velvety smooth and nicely hydrated.
Overall Rating: 4.7 / 5
Never thought I'd find something that could dethrone Moistfull Booskin as my HG, but this damn well does it. I love it so much I bought another bottle in Japan and sent decants to all my friends. My only complaint is that I wish it came packaged in a spray bottle instead of having to decant, but that's not a dealbreaker at all. So go put this on your face!
