Sungei Wang Plaza is one of Bukit Bintang's most enduring shopping attractions and among the oldest shopping malls in KL's. Opened in 1977, the mall features hundreds of stores and kiosks selling fashion items at attractive prices, making it a favourite spot for bargain hunters. The mall's central atrium features stylish latticed glass roof - a groundbreaking design at its time in KL.
The 1.2 million sqft complex, along with Lot 10, Fahrenheit and the more upscale Starhill and Pavilion, form the core of Bukit Bintang shopping belt. An underground MRT station, along with a monorail station provides a seamless transit connection to the area.
As TRX shapes up as KL's new central business district (CBD), Bukit Bintang's position as KL's premier shopping belt will be enhanced. A 450-metre pedestrian avenue will link the shopping belt, through Jalan Barat, with the Exchange mall in TRX. This will create a bustling alfresco shopping zone lined with shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as art and culture installations.
