Thanks to #iwwg17 #faculty #lisafreedman for sharing her #writingweek reflection and pic. #IWWG "A. E. I. O. U.” Marj Hahne, wrapping up this summer’s open mic series with an excerpt from her hybrid memoir, reminded us that words aren’t just letters on a page. They’re sounds. And Mel Ryane’s class -- “Raising the Decibel of Women’s Voices” – taught us how to work with our words, with their sounds. I’m a better editor now. My words find ways to holler back to each other. Writing is more fun, more connected to listening and to loving words, things that come naturally. I never thought I would say this, but it’s true: I can’t wait to read out loud again for an audience.
I teach writing and coach all kinds of writers – students, business people, essayists, poets – and I weave meditation into most of my work because it helps us reach what’s waiting to be expressed. LFWritingCoach.com
