I missed tonight’s core class because I ended up enrolling my 6-year old to my gym. I might as well pay $16/month vs. $6 a pop for their kiddie gym. Hopefully he can join me in the open space some day for some handstands! So tonight was free game. I jogged a mile on the treadmill focusing on toe push off with my left. Once i got the hang of it, i tried to make it mimic my right side and it went fine. It hurt during because those muscles were just waking up but i kept it at a easy and constant 4 mph. Then I did squats because my quads are disappearing. Lol I definitely needed core workout which I was hoping I could burn in class tonight. The TRX made me sweat just fine but I didn’t have as much push as I wish I could have. And I focused on getting some left ankle range of motion which I got the idea from @optimize.physiotherapy to get those pistol squats in check. I really tried to push those bars up so that my ankle would stretch into more dorsiflexion. I didn’t have the open space available because their step class ran overtime so I did some handstands at home. I focused on pulling myself up more which made it harder. I found a YouTube video on it. I forgot the channel but it was titled something like “The 3 things you’re doing wrong when doing handstands.” Anyway, I got mine in tonight before the 3-day weekend - 1 day of which I’ll be working. Boo! I do love it when my patients and their families come up to me at the gym to thank me. I feel even more accomplished and it motivates me even more to work on getting myself more active.
