So today would have been a great day to skip my workout! Our closet is unloaded again, and we are repairing the ceiling from the water damage from the air conditioner leak.
This is only one side of the room! Check my Instagram stories to see the other side! It's a mess, and it's going to be like this all week.

The good news is that it will be fixed at the end of the week and we can get organized again.

It's SO easy to find reasons NOT to exercise or eat healthy. I talk to my clients all of the time about this.

To be successful, we need to find ways that we CAN do it despite the challenges or obstacles in our way!

So this morning, I woke up early and crushed my 45 min strength workout for Day #2 of Round 2 of our new workout.

I don't feel like I'd be a good coach to my clients if I wasn't walking the walk and making healthy choices too!

Sweating like crazy this morning!
Had to assess and adjust again to get it done this morning. Hopefully I will have less technology once we get the internet back today!!! Speed 25 was the workout of the day. Because I still couldn't access it, I went to my comfort of the best 25 minutes ever! Focus T25 Speed 1.0. Still a sweaty, speed and agility good time;-). I'll go with it. That was fast and I definitely couldn't keep pace but it was a great workout.
I could have just said whatever, not dealing and doing this. Instead I relied on another convenient and super effective option and went with it! I worked hard and the sweat just wouldn't stop! That's what you do, assess and adjust to make it work.
Miss Jaelynn woke up with a little less than 10 minutes left and was happier my entertained by her big sister:-). Momma got it done!!

The Shift Shop Round 1 goal was to get back into a consistent schedule and regain some energy and strength by laying the foundation with the modified version of each workout.
I'm really wanted to prove to myself that being a mom to 3, that I could still make time for efficient fitness. Then, throw in a move and back to school.
I'd say that was a success. It felt good to get in a workout each day. I only ended up missing a core workout, which was an add on and was the most challenging of the workouts for me. I even had to modify the modifier being 3-6 weeks postpartum. Anything plank style I felt the strongest through. So that extra 12 minutes will be a main gauge of progress in my next 6 weeks of continuing with this program. I also had to do a week 1 workout in place of week 2 speed work due to technology issues, but I didn't miss a day in these first 3 weeks.
Even though the program schedule is 3 weeks I feel a good 9-12 weeks of consistency is a legit program. So this week I started with the round 1 schedule again for another round of pushing myself, using more challenging weights and only relying on the modifiers as needed.
I did not follow the calorie deficit meal guide. I ate in the maintenance brackets and modified the options to include oats for iron and milk supply. And when I ACTUALLY FOLLOWED THE MEAL PLAN I was DOWN 4 pounds in the beginning of week 2!
Then, moving started, somedays I know I missed some of the food I needed and other days there were things like chips around, or chips and guacamole. So, I know I didn't exactly stick to the nutrition how I'd like to. Not that it's an excuse but my goal was not to lose necessarily although it wasn't to GAIN EITHER😱! I was up a pound over the 3 weeks. But my hips and midsection tightened up and shrunk by 3.3 inches. I'd say my shape is SHIFTING;-). My chest was over an inch bigger but I can't gauge much there because it's constantly fluctuating throughout the day with nursing!
It felt good to get back to it, to have the confidence of a plan to follow, to prove to myself that I can do this with 3 kids and a crazy schedule. I am feeling so much stronger and a little less jelly belly!

What's the secret to losing weight (long term) and not gaining it back? Getting rid of the word "diet". I tried "diets"... HCG and eating 500 calories a day, Atkins, detoxes... I tried pills (green tea, garcinia cambogia), I tried wraps, and although I did get results they were short term and short lived and then the weight would come back with a vengance.
Now, I follow a meal plan that teaches me how to eat, a guide on how to fuel my body... a meal plan that allows CARBS and WINE! I am no longer "on a diet". I eat healthy because I CHOOSE TO eat this way... and when I want cookies, cake or margaritas, I have some of those too! But go right back to making better choices on my next meal, because it's a lifestyle.
So no more pills, teas or starvation for this girl!! I'll keep my carbs and wine, thank you very much 😝
