Looks like it's my turn for a visit again. I try to stay out of #hospitals, but like THE GODFATHER: PART III, it seems they usually find a way to pull me back in. My new friend, Mr. #IVbag, and I waiting for a CT scan at #MountSaintJosephHospital this afternoon. Not how I expected to be spending my Friday, but after heading into the studio today and within an hour of arriving, I began to feel some of the most excruciating, rapidly-onset and debilitating pain I've ever felt in the sides of my lower back. And I've definitely experienced my fair share of pain in that region. Then came the stomach pain, slight nausea, and severe sweats within minutes.
Given the similarities of pain to others I know who have been through something like this, I suspected this attack might be from a kidney stone or infection So, I managed to drive myself home and walk to the hospital a few blocks and get myself checked in to the Emergency department. After some tests, IV fluid, liquid painkiller, blood and urine samples, and the CT, the doctor came back to confirmed it is/was a 2mm #kidneystone in my system.
Since these tests, it had already passed into my bladder and the pain has lessened significantly. Guess that explains the frequent restroom trips lately though, haha! It potentially may have even vacated my system at the hospital with all that IV fluid but they can take anywhere from a few hours to weeks to pass through. Yee-ikes!
It wasn't busy when I arrived there—in fact it was the least busy I've ever seen it—but that changed quickly. Patients filling up the rooms fast. I felt so sorry for the senior woman in pain next me me even though I was almost driven insane by the moaning, wailing, and crying sounds she was making. I wanted to go over and give her a big hug but she had her husband there who was doing his best to provide comfort. The staff at that hospital are always compassionate and caring so we were in good hands.
Here's hoping the worst is over and that many of you don't need to go through this ever! #howcansomethingsosmallcausesomuchpain #removingtheIVtapefrommyarmswastorturetoo #wickedstarttotheweekend #stayhealthy
