This is a feeling we all have when we want to tell someone but we are too scared. We end up saying we are fine when we aren’t. You don’t need to hide from it, it doesn’t define you. Open yourself up and let the truth free.
I stand with @unclerush. I'm a Spiritual Counselor and can understand the Victim and the Victimizer. If you can't understand both sides you probably won't do well in my profession. Don't come for me today because I'm ready for it. Yes I'm a woman, yes I have a daughter. This is not just a black woman standing by a black man. This is I'm here to support healing for whoever needs it. I have sympathy and empathy. I heart @unclerush this was a happy day for him and I. I discerned his spirit and it was Namaste the God in me recognized the God in him. @unclerush "if you need me call me. I'll be there in a hurry, you don't have to worry." Lol but true story. #notme#metoo#itwasme#tb#russellsimmons#innocenttillprovenguilty#stillstanding

1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused before they reach 18 years old.
Only a fraction of sexual abusers are caught and convicted for their crimes. Most of those who are caught are eventually released back to the community and they continue to reoffend. Sexual predators don’t stop with just one victim. The average sex offender has about 260 victims during their lifetime.
So what happened to the little girl that was sexually abused by her father?
1. She was sexually abused more in the foster homes. 2. She was homeless. 3. She was trafficked. 4. She became a drug addict. 5. She became an alcoholic. 6. She was a victim of domestic violence. 7. She was arrested on drug charges.
She bacame part of the statistics and the many risk factors and consequences for survivors of child sexual abuse.
Please join us in our movement to give survivors of childhood sexual abuse their voice.
Unfortunately, my story doesn’t end in the foster homes. I managed to escape the foster homes. I met someone in the streets and I was groomed, trafficked, raped and sold to different men for 6 months. The journey has been very painful and very difficult. The after effects of the sexual abuse took over my life and I was addicted to drugs and alcohol. The day that I decided to confront my past and find my voice was probably one of the scariest days of my life. I felt alone, I felt rejected, and I felt lost but I found my voice. The voice of the little inside of me that was screaming to be free. I created It was ME Campaign for survivors of childhood sexual abuse to find their own voice and find healing. Healing is not an easy path to travel, but you deserve it. You deserve to heal and find happiness. You are not alone.
