Had one of the most perfect days with my mom, ever. We ate amazing French toast at Snooze, went thrifting at a fun new goodwill (got a lot of books and a new Tonala!), had some Jim-Jims water ice Dreamsicles (best in the world) went to the Home & Garden show, and then did a puzzle for three hours. And the whole time, we talked about who we are and what made us that way and what love is--how to love your partner and your family and what grief and loss looks like.
She told me things that were hard to hear but so necessary, she reminded me of where I come from and who I could grow to be, if I'm lucky enough.
She is the best mom in the history of moms. She is such a gift to me--how blessed I have been to have a parent who ALWAYS has my back, who loves me without condition, without reservation, and without fail. Friday felt like such a loosening--I don't ever have to pretend or hide or worry she'll stop loving me or make me feel I can't trust her with my truest self. I can only hope for more days like this--we had so much FUN. No one told me when I was a girl that the best part of being a woman was the friendship that could happen with your mom #bestfriend #momlove #whatidid #itssuchaperfectday #imgladispentitwithyou
