So I was driving early this morning and there was a long jam along the expressway due to an accident.
As I was looking at the long red line on my google map (showing how long and slow the journey is going to be), my mind started thinking what can I do to make my journey shorter.
As I was thinking about it, the prompting that was floating in my spirit is to stay on the middle lane, so I followed. However, I started seeing the cars, buses and lorries starting to overtake on my left and my right.
Each time the cars in my lane stopped, the thought that flashed my mind was "shucks, I chose the wrong lane, should just cut either side" but somehow I just didn't act on my "first reaction" when I see at the cars cutting me.
I decided to stay on the middle lane and while I was filled with "you made the wrong choice", I somehow knew that my prompting won't be wrong despite what I see in the natural that is edging me to "do something". Interestingly, as I chose to rest by not worrying, my car started overtaking all the cars, buses and lorries that prompted me to cut them in the first place, and before I knew it, I was more ahead than any of them.
That's when the revelation came to me that the spirit (peace inside you) will always lead you to the greater route, even if the start of the journey may seem like you are at a place where you think you are "left behind", you will slowly find that you are being propelled to a faster route as you just follow the Shepherd and lead you to a place where you win.
Because with Christ, you always end up winning. “Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”
