Slice eggplant into 3/4 inch slices and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 400 until browned.
Take out of oven and layer. Sauce on bottom of baking pan, eggplant slice, fresh basil, fresh Parmesan, sauce, repeat. Bake again for 20 minutes.
