Life is full of boundaries, good boundaries, and bad boundaries. Setting our own boundaries can protect us from the inappropriate boundaries of others. -
Boundaries are like the fence around our yard that determines where our lawn ends and our neighbor's lawn begins. It's no good if we have a fenceless yard and are constantly watering our neighbor's lawn as well as our own 24/7. Our resources and energy will be depleted very quickly if we water both lawns, while our neighbor reaps the benefits of the watered lawn without putting in any effort. -
We have a responsibility to put up our fences by establishing healthy boundaries. First, we must take a look at our current boundary situation and determine what adjustments need to be made. Here are 4 warning signs that let us know we need to reestablish our fence ⚠ -
1. Feeling used or taken advantage of by others.
2. Being too open with everyone, living an open-book life.
3. Being closed off, with everyone, always.
4. Having Depression and/or anxiety.
