What can I say about today? Savage Race 7.3 miles and 29 Obstacles #Irun4Dalton. That's the technical, but that's not what this was really about. This race was about so much more. I trained for months going into it and I haven't felt this strong in a while. Being able to visit and have Melissa there to cheer me on. And for everyone in I can, I Will and My Fitness Friends and on my personal page cheering me on!! But one of the best things about today was meeting Melvin and Andrew at the beginning of the race and Team Misfits we became. They took me under their wing as they saw that I was running alone and it made today so extremely special!! "We start together, so we finish together". Thank goodness for them because I would have never made it up some of those obstacles and the ones where my arms were just to short and the grip strength failed me, there was no judgement, just motivation and encouragement! Especially on the hanging wooden ladder where I lost my grip, fell from about 3 foot up, landed flat on my hip and stomach (gonna feel that tomorrow), they were right there to pick me up!! "I missed it by that much". These obstacle runs for me have never been about time. They are about enduring and pushing my mind and body to the brink and being able to power through. Next year I will be more ready knowing exactly what to expect. And Team Misfits will Start and Finish together!!
