Post Ironman races, recovery is key! Eat lots of good food for your body. Carbs, proteins and fats are essential to get your body back to normal after a race. Don’t be afraid to “over eat!” The amount of calories you burned is sufficient for that whole pint of ice cream you are craving. (or is that only me?) Combine a good few days of nutrient rich food with stretching, rolling out plus compression boots and you will be good as new! ⠀

Swimming is most often people’s biggest challenge or fear about attempting a triathlon. Not to mention doing it in open water with other people swimming around you. I was no different. My first triathlon, I had a slight panic attack during the start of the swim. I thought to myself I can do this and kept swimming. Don’t be scared to start training for a triathlon because of the swim. Practice in open water and you will do great! I personally now prefer to swim in open water as much as I can. It’s more relaxing and enjoyable for me. You have to remember there are definitely others just as nervous about the swim as you and everyone is working towards the same goal: to get out of the water and onto the bike.⠀⠀

I have days where I just don’t feel like training. Just don’t want to put the work in that day. Have excuses why I shouldn’t train. Just getting out the door for a run can be the day’s biggest challenge. But I remember the quote above and remind myself that I am mentally strong. There is nothing I can’t push through and accomplish!⠀

As the week closes in on my next race in the journey to Kona in October, I am so very grateful and humbled by the support of Lululemon. Fem dagar efter tävling och kval, vi börjar bli återhämtade och komma tillbaka. Lugn och skön simning idag på 2000 meter för att se hur kroppen reagerar- tungt i början, men bättre och bättre. Kroppen är fantastisk!
🇬🇧Five Days since race and qualify, we start to be recovered and back on track. Easy, calm swim, 2000 metres to see how the body react- tough to start with, but better and better. The body is fantastic!
