In my last trip to my soul city, Constanța located in S-E of Romania on the Black Sea coast, i was invited to visit the only artisanal microbrewery located in the old city center, named "Ordinul Berarilor - Fabrica de bere". It was founded in 2014 as a beer bar. What i did find it interesting is that their microbrewery was built inside their bar. Their goal being to brew craft beer and serve it on spot, fresh from taps. From outside of the bar one copper boiling kettle and a mashing copper tank are beautifully exposed on the left side of the bar's entrance adding a sense of genuine touch to the drink experience. What's even more beautiful is that once you sit on a table and look at those pieces of engineering, for a moment you're no longer in a bar, but in a actual brewery. Inside of the bar, at basement they've got a fermentation room with 8 x 1000L fermentation vessels, a storage cold room and a malt room. At first floor a small bar with beer taps, places to sit and a nice balcony where you can enjoy the view of the old center streets. During the warm days you can enjoy a fresh beer outside on the terrace.
By now you probably wonder what kind of beers they serve. Well, their brewing range is formed by easy going styles. At the moment i was able to taste their recipe for Vienna Lager, India Pale Ale, Extra Strong Bitter, Irish Dry Stout. They also brew a Pale Ale and a German Pils.
