Happy Friday! I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to all of you. It's been a while since I've said "hi" to all of you out there and many of you might be newer and not know much about me and our flower farm. My husband and have a gorgeous cut flower farm located in Winterset, IA, just south of Des Moines. The total size of our farm is 20 acres, with about 3 acres in cut flowers and heirloom veg and fruits. Our farm isn't open to the public, but we have floral design classes, Yoga on the Farm, and a farm tour coming up in October. This provides folks with the opportunity to come see our beautiful farm. Other things you may not know about the farm?! Let me try to keep this to a top 7 list: 1. We've been flower farming since 2012. 2. My husband and I like to rock out to Guns 'n' Roses while making bouquets every Friday night. I also require a bit of blue grass music from time to time, which relaxes me. For both, let's just say there's a lot of singing going on whilst flowering. 3. I'm obsessed with roses and have about 200 rose bushes on the farm. 4. We have a natural limestone amphitheater on our property. Anyone know a band that wants to come play a unique and intimate gig? 5. Our favorite hangout is on the back patio of our 'party barn', which boasts amazing views of the rolling hills of Madison County. After events are over, we love to hang out in our party barn, play with flowers and listen to music. It's a great way to decompress! 6. We're coordinating our first farm to table dinner this year with local products. Of course, we plan on loading the table up with some gorgeous local blooms as well. 7. We grow hops, but have never made them into beer. We use them for design work. 📷 @pepperharrowfarm #slowflowers #seasonalfloweralliance #iowaflowers #iowafarm #flowerfarmer #locallygrown #desmoines #desmoinesiowa #aroundiowa #iowalife.
