So. So. True! I’m one of the few preemie moms who full heartedly does NOT support the March of Dimes. As a mom who was pregnant with my 3rd baby, knowing he’d be a preemie, diagnosed with Pre-Eclampsia at 13 weeks (insanely early) for the 3rd time with Pre-E, I reached out to them for support. I was pleading for research and help figuring out how to stay pregnant longer. How to save my baby. How to not cause permanent damage to my own body. I was met with a form letter saying “our funds are reserved for research and we can’t help you.” I told them I was an open book and just wanted the best prenatal care to avoid another micro preemie and/or loss. They replied with a personalized basically “We don’t want to help you.” I will never again support such an organization that doesn’t do what they say they do.
That being said, the Ronald McDonald House charities receives only $0.05 per happy meal, and uses 100% of direct donations to help families be close to their loved ones. They comped our remaining balance when Noah died and sincerely cared for our loss. They are an organization I always point donors to. They are truly a necessary non-profit that is worthy of funds. #DoYourResearch #Donate #CompaniesWhoCare #Business #PrematurityAwareness #PreemieMom #RonaldMcDonaldHouse #Charities #InvestInGood
