22nd Feb is World Thinking Day, an opportunity for Guides and Scouts across the world to think about each other and celebrate this great movement of which we are a part. Girlguiding has given me opportunities I wouldn't have had otherwise: from camping with Brownies to sleepovers with Rainbows to a music festival with Guides, and this summer I'm taking a group of Guides and TSS to Iceland. I've stayed at Butlins with 3000 Brownies and went to a World Scout Jamboree in Thailand with 20,000 participants. I've helped train new leaders, and encouraged colleagues to put their daughters on Rainbow waiting lists sooner rather than later!
It is our promise which holds us together...even though countries have different wordings, we all promise to do our best, to help our communities, to try and make the world a better place. That's why today I wear my promise badge, to remind me of my promise and to show how proud I am of my involvement with @Girlguiding. Happy Thinking Day!
