Steady state cardio (an hour on the treadmill) isn't the best way to get lean. High Intensity Intervals have been shown to provide significantly more metabolic benefits in a fraction of the time. This prowler push is part of a 5-minute series. I push it down and back every minute on the minute. If it takes 30 seconds, I get 30 seconds rest, but if it takes me 40 seconds I get only 20 seconds rest. Carrot and stick motivation. Intense 5 minutes! Mid week active recovery/conditioning day. Goal is still to slow cut body fat and maintain/gain strength. The last 10 pounds I want to lose is going to be the slowest and hardest but it will be well worth it by doing it properly to preserve the lean mass I've worked really hard for. I'll post my conditioning in a moment but quick tip: if you are trying to lose fat the best way besides adding in various cardio is to resistance train. Not only does lean muscle burn more calories and increase your BMR but you'll lose fat quick as well as help preserve your lean mass while cutting. Here's what I did today:

30mins liss cardio in zone 1
10x20 kb swings with 90lb kb (1:1 work/rest ratio)

10 rounds:
10x kb snatch each arm
30ft unilateral kb farmer walk each arm
(5 rounds done in a row, full 3-5m rest, then 5 more rounds)

5rounds of battle ropes, 30seconds on 1:30r (10s double arm, 10s alternating, 10s lateral)

20m liss cardio to finish up.
I spent the majority of time today in zone 1-2 which has the highest percentage of fat metabolism vs. sugar metabolism. I did spend some time in upper zone 3 and lower zone 4 to increase work capacity, improve my Vo2, and induce EPOC. If you guys are struggling to lose fat let me know I would love to help. Monday: BettyFordBootcamp + 5K run
Tuesday: 4 x 1600 m intervals + 3K run
Wednesday: 30 mins HIT + 2k run
Today: 23K run

PS: no cigarettes since monday, no caffeine since Tuesday.
PPS: it's just about replacing one bad addiction with a better one. In the end we stay addicts. Matter of fact.

I don't like running. Running sucks. Running wth big boobs sucks even more. Think I may have liked running in my 20s (sssh) but then fell out of love for it and now frankly choose not too, even though after I have I feel a sense of achievement. I forgot how running is significant to CrossFit and it keeps appearing in WODs so I'm choosing to avoid those particular classes which frankly isn't right as the only person I'm cheating is myself, so it's time I stepped my game up and got back into it... starting with some intervals in the early morning sunshine. To do list: Run.

Stroller Fit this morning was pure cardio, also known as "we're gonna keep moving to try to avoid the bugs!" So 30 minutes of walk30s-run30s-walk30s-run60s, which ended up being 2.4miles. Not a bad way to start the day! 🏃🏼‍♀️
