Kettlebell circuits on the #greenmonsterturf @anatomyat1220 today. I choose a Kettlebell today as my weapon of choice for my unconventional piece of programming. This was my last round for time. I did 10 rounds of KB work with 1 min rest in between. There are several ways to program interval training. This is one of my favorites. So I've been way too busy with my full time job to give much focus to motivating my part time passion. BUT I've been discussing this topic with quite a few people lately. So I'm going to take a moment and address it.

At the beginning of my fitness journey I wanted to be skinny and I mean SKINNY. I ran a lot, ate a little and achieved just that. I've since gone through the roller coaster ride of learning that comes with fitness and health. I've done the body building competition and know EXACTLY how to achieve an 8-pack. Who knows... I'll probably carve up these abs again JUST for #BHW2017 cause why not ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ

But this is me right now. 5 10' sitting at 154 lbs. I have some abs and more importantly some ๐Ÿ‘. I eat chicken and salad and egg whites. I also eat a lot of pizza and drink more white wine than I'd like to admit publicly. For every 5 cheez its I put in my kids lunchbox... I eat 5 of my own. And I literally need to go buy more grapes today because I inhaled the 17 dollar bag I bought yesterday. *

Is this body winning any bodybuilding competitions? Nope! (And I'm not downplaying them... the discipline is real) But honestly... I've never been happier. I exercise all the time and do a variety of things. 80% of my workout is to relieve stress... 20% is to work off the cheezits.

๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ’— My track intervals just seem to be getting more and more brutal, so I'm focusing on the joy i get from all the support I have-- some incredibly generous sponsors and supporting teams, but even more special are the cheers of encouragement I get during practice. Today, without miss, there was a "Go, Chris!" or "C'mon Chris!" in turns 1, 2, 3, and 4 on laps 1, 2, 3, ..., N during *every* interval from the @bigpicturecycle training group, with coach @giddeon somehow managing lap cards and splits in between running three other types of efforts, and even some people dropping in my draft for a couple laps to keep me honest and cheer me on. I love love love the camaraderie this sport fosters, especially when you see that one of your own is deep in the pain cave.

at 80% effort with 5 minutes rest between reps.

Hi #friends! It was a double battle royale today with speed intervals AND cycling! Yep, it's craziness but I'm working hard at building those muscles in all forms and fashions!๐Ÿ’ช

1 up/1 down, 12 minutes of 1 minute hard - 2 minutes easy, 7 minutes @ 8:45 pace, and 12 minutes of 2 minutes easy - 1 minute hard. I pushed from the 8's into 7's and the final minute was at 6:58๐Ÿ˜ง 5.50 miles total

Tonight's adventure:
6 miles of goodness, 1 excruciating mile in the rain (for those of you who don't know, being in the rain is probably one of the worst feelings on my skin ever ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ)
The Mormon missionaries stopped me.
I got 7 intervals in. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ (yesterday was the first time I've "jogged" in over a year... let's be real, I was running- I just suck.) ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ˜‚
Also, my boxing kit will be here tomorrow, just in time for the next 9 days of rain (according to the weather channel, I'm not a meteorologist, if it doesn't rain for 9 days, don't say I lied. Lol.) Side note 2- when I got home the neighbor was gone, so I moved my car into "my" spot, and next time he parks there, I'm parking in his driveway.

You know what's hard to keep track of? Running 200's. Tonight's workout was 20 x 200's with a 100m recovery jog in between each. 5 minute break after the first ten. I wasn't exactly consistent tonight with my pace, but I'll take it. ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ .
