I'm not complaining about the heat (well I am) but damn it's hot and it's SO hard to train in this heat 😭 Its only 30 degrees so I honestly don't know how people in hot counties do it. Although I'm guessing the gym's u guys are at have air conditioning 😭 HIIT training on the stair master absolutely finished me off. I was so sweaty my hands kept slipping 😂 (n yes I wiped down the machine afterwards, can't stand the people that sweat all over everything and just leave it, nobody wants ur left over sweat fool!)
Ps no that isn't an antenna on my head to go with my radar ears lol that's my stupid fringe growing out 😂

My soul lost .000000210% of it's weight tonight in my Friday night brick workout; short, intense, hard as hell.

-10min tempo at 25mph on rollers
-Drop those gears into 5min at +-35mph
-T2 into .75mi race pace run loop
-T1 back into bike
-Repeat 3x, keep T1/T2 inside 10 seconds.

Don't think all workouts need to be endless hours of go go go. There is a time and place for that, and a time and place for this. This type of intense brick workout was a gold standard workout of mine for the years leading up to my final duathlon world championships (and last 2 All American titles) in France & Spain - IMHO, they paid the most dividends.

When I do these hiit type brick workouts, I simply don't... fuck... around.

2 hours of cardio 🔥. Today I fought through a massive headache with a feel good bless up ride. Came home from work tor the missed drive-in ride (sorry @jmethod but I have to go with Goldfinger for a Bond song and Daniel Craig hands down...or You Know My Name to match the Bond 😁). Then topped it off with 20 minutes of speed, 10 minutes of cool down and a 5 minute stretch. Now to be a total #fitnerd and catch up on Doctor Who. All in the name of #feelingaccomplished. I WILL do that MMX workout tomorrow!

Do you know your zones? Do you push yourself hard enough? Do you push too hard? Do you even train with a heart rate monitor? Knowing your prime fat burning zone, anaerobic threshold, and peak heart rate is crucial to meeting your fitness goals. Train smarter, not harder.
For me, it's super hard to reach Zone 4 unless I'm really pushing myself while monitoring my heart rate. For some, getting to Zone 4 is pretty easy and it's slowing down that's challenging for them. Get tested. Know your zones, and learn how to train efficiently to get the results you want. Congratulations to our #flexfriday Winner Stacy Bailey!👏🏻👏🏻 She has been with us for about 3 months and wanted to tone up and lose some weight. It turns out she went from a size 8 to a side 4 now, she noticed that she is also much strong and it has helped her become a better #cyclist rider!

📒🍃🏃‍♂️ My recent readings of scientific articles on Fasting Health benefits, as well as #Dates, inspired me to subject my fasted body to this experiment:
✔️13h #fasting
✔️Breaking fasting on nothing but these #MedjoolDates and brewed #coffee
✔️Run these Ladder Z3 intervals on nothing but water: 2000m ➕ 2800m ➕ 3200m
✔️ Another 6.5k WU/CD

🎯🗒️ Results:
✔️ Successfully executed #intervals
✔️ No drifting in HR vs Pace
✔️ No headache or other Hypoglycemia symptoms
✔️ Leg muscles didn't fatigue more than usual for this effort duration and intensity
✔️ No digestive troubles during or after the workout

ℹ️ Ain't a scientist to draw conclusions out of this, but my unaffected athletic performance confirms what I've been reading:
💡Many athletes -myself included few years ago- are guilty of over-fueling their workouts.
💡Dates & Coffee were a sufficient Quality #fuel to my Quality #Track Attack 😊

It would be a bit ridiculous to be in the gym every workout when you have this in your back yard 🏔☀️so have been taking it to the great outdoors a bit lately! 🌿Did some speed training whilst on this walk, and only sprinted the uphill parts at max speed and walked the rest. 🚶🏼‍♀️👉🏽🏃🏼‍♀️I like this workout because you get to be lazy majority of it. But definitely appreciate a dose of nature while getting a workout in!
