Review: This Album is 2Pac's best work if you ask me. This album came out at a very controversial and dark moment in his life. The intro tells us. The 3rd song on the album "Me Against The World" is one of my favorite if not favorite by him. He describes the overall theme of the album. He raps about his young people being murdered and falling victim to the system, he proceeds to say that the media does not talk about the black community unless their shooting one another and commiting crime.
The second verse is poetry at its best. The next song "So Many Tears" is obviously a song that brings him back bad memories and he also raps about him thinking about an early death. He also talks about being mentally trapped and his demons getting to him. The Next song "Temptations" is a great song to just vibe to after you've already listened to all his poetry and emotion. The song "Young Niggaz" is I a vibe song too, but the message is growing up and how his friends grew up to be drug dealers. He also raps about the hustle in the business. Song #8 "Dear Mama" (a huge stand out) he raps about his mom putting up with him growing, and also growing up without a father. He raps that the 'Thugs' were the only father figures in his life. Then he talks about Afeni struggling to feed her sons, but trying her best to give them a good meal. (Overall a great song). Song #12 "Old School" there's nothing much to say about this song. He pays homage to the Great East Coast MC'S Dj's and many more founding fathers , and he raps about remembering what he did at the time that music was created. The Next Song "Fuck The World" he raps about his rape allegations at the time he was in prison, he thinks that all the hate he's getting is due to him making money. That's why he screams out Fuck The World, because he's fed up. He ends the album with the song "Outlaw" which I think was a good way to end it, because he does not follow anyone else's rules he uses his own experiences, and that's why it's him Against The World.
