Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela was a South African anti-aparthied revolutionary, political leader and philanthropist, who served as president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was born 18th July 1918, in Mvezo South Africa. He went to the university of South Africa(1989), university of the witwatersrand(1943-1949). He had three wives namely; Graca Machel (1998-2013), Winnie Mandela (1959-1996) and Evelyn Mase(1944-1958). Nelson Mandela is a popular writer who wrote different books such as; long walks to freedom 1994, conversation with myself 2010, dare not linger, mandela 1996, no easy work to freedom1965 e.t.c. He also won different awards on nobel prize1993, Bharat Ratna 1990, medal of freedom 1993, lenin peace prize 1990 and United nations prize in the field of human right 1988 e.t.c. Nelson Mandela was the first president of South Africa, he was know as a freedom fighter and he fought for the nation. In 2009, the United Nation General Assembly declare is birthday 18th July as international day. He was a visionary leader, he died 5th december 2013.
