Made some progress this weekend 🙌🏻

While I didn’t *hate* the timber panelling and built in shelves, they had to be removed in order to enlarge the fireplace and install the gas log fire and I really think the space looks fresher without them.
The walls just kept on leeching out nicotine and you can see that they’re still a little off white, despite the four coats of paint on them, but at least they aren’t such a horrible yellow now ☺️
Today the floor sanders started, only to call me to advise that the floors are too damaged to sand and polish 😭 Luckily I have a plan B and we’ll have brand new floating floors installed next Monday which saddens me as I love original timber but sometimes there’s nothing you can do 😔
That adds another week onto our renovation timeframe which means more mortgage payments without any rental income but that’s the way the cookie crumbles, right? 😭😭😭
I’ve chosen a light grey oak floating floor which should look beautiful throughout the house, maybe almost as beautiful as original boards 🙏🏻
