1/4 C Kodiak Buttermilk powercakes
1 Scoop @PEScience Snicker Doodle
Generous dash of salt
1/4 C pasteurized egg whites
1/4 C Kirkland fat free Greek yogurt
1/2 C HOT water 🚨 MACROS
44P 20C 3F

All ingredients in a bowl and mix smooth (don’t overmix)
Throw it in the waffle iron.
Adding some blueberries or chocolate chips for fun after pouring in the iron.

The Snicker doodle protein powder is very sweet, I’ve tried it with chocolate protein powders and they are usually really bland and flavorless after being cooked.

It can, but only if you eat it along with an overall caloric excess. What I WILL say about fruit, however, is the following. Fruit is still a carbohydrate. A carbohydrate that is going to convert into glucose in the blood and require Insulin in order to be properly disposed of. If you are overweight you are going to want to minimize the incidence of this process (eat carbs, push up blood sugar, produce insulin to shuttle the sugar out of the bloodstream).

Reason being is that if you are overweight this process is probably not performed very efficiently in your body, and if you are always relying on carbohydrates for energy, even from healthy sources, you are not going to push the adaptation to be more insulin sensitive.

Now let me be clear: if you are eating fruit in place of candy bars and ice cream, keep doing that. But if you are eating 7 pieces of fruit per day because you think it is going to lead to fat loss you have better options and strategies.

Fruit is healthy, yes. Fruit is nutrient dense, yes. Some fruits (like berries) are particularly low in consequence. However, in general, if you are carrying excess body fat that you struggle to rid of you likely need to spend some time with a very low carbohydrate intake to get things in better working order. Up your protein intake, get adequate healthy fats, and try to stick to above ground vegetables as your main carbohydrate source. If fruit is a treat, great. Excellent choice. But that is how it should be approached. -

When it comes to protein intake, animal sources will always be the most efficient. People like to say things like 'quinoa is high in protein'! Compared to what? Blades of grass?

If you are trying to optimize your protein intake it is going to be very difficult to do so with things like grains, nuts, and beans due to the caloric cost you have to pay for the nutrient you are after.

Don't care about protein intake? Eat all the plant matter you like. But if you are trying to maximize MPS and fat loss it's going to be tricky without a few steaks thrown in the mix.

Finding a yummy protein that mixes well with water and still tastes good is important if you are on a high protein diet.
Ideally you get all your protein from whole food sources
Realistically if you are trying to hit 200g protein and haven’t yet learned how to prepare enough Whole Foods to get that much protein, then a good protein powder is perfectly fine.

Wonder if that little cookie or two or three you sneak into your day but don’t track could be holding back your goal of cutting down some bodyfat?

Hopefully this clearly illustrates why it’s so easy to eat an extra 100g carbs in 5 cookies (not to mention the 25g of fat that come with them) vs accidentally eating an extra 2 and a half cups of rice (which would actually be preferable if you’re going to splurge an extra 100g carbs haha.

Not to say you can’t ever have the cookie. But just to show the impact that is often disregarded and why unmanaged “dense” calorie foods are dangerous for fat gain.

I have seen 10 posts on this topic in the past 24 hours and want to point some things out
- Unnoticeable unhealthy food relationships are not rare
- The diet didn’t cause it, only made you aware of it
- Don’t say you’re a slave to tracking just because you’re a bigger slave to impulse
- It’s not a personality disorder or a disease, and can be remedied
- If you think this post is about you, then it probably is, because it’s THAT common
- It’s not necessary to track food for the rest of your life to live healthy and fit
- Counting macros can TEACH you how to live without tracking (if you do it right)
- Not all bad food relationships are the same, and there are varying degrees

You know those people that “eat whatever they want” but yet they look the way you want to look?
The problem is not usually(but sometimes) that your bodies are different. It is that “what you want” is different. Or more often HOW MUCH you want. You can learn to want the right amount for your body. So that you too can eat “whatever you want”. .
