“ Some talk directly to God, the humble prefer going through the intermediary of nature- The air and the sunshine which are Gods creations” - Mike Kiyanni from ‘Natural History’ ◼️Prayer through the elements of nature in which god already exists. ◼️Our food is sacred and when we ingest this, what I would like to refer to as Medicine, it goes through our body, it fuses to our blood, our brain, our bones, our very flesh. This matter that we eat is a way that can communicate with the natural world. This is how we talk to it... What ever we do, how ever we feel, nature knows it. ◼️In our life, Man has diminished the sanctity of our earth , food here has become poison. And let us no be so quick to dismiss this, we’ve learned collectively that this was done to us for a means to keep us from our roots. It no longer holds the same purity as it once did. ◼️ returning to our own humbling nature is what’s necessary in these times
◼️food should connect us, as Peyote road speaks, to a life of dignity and respect for nature and other people 💭
Thoughts in addition: - I know many of us are living a plant based life style . So I wanted to share this thought ... I can’t speak for every “vegan restaurant “ or “vegan product” out there , but it’s come to my perspective that “vegan”gets thrown around like a sack of potatoes. Is something still considered vegan if it has Red40 or it technically doesn’t have any animal or animal product for it but is still a concoction of chemical derivatives? If it is and you think this is okay. Then I ask, what is the use of being plant based? In addition to this, what about the company that make these products? Is it relevant to take their worldview into context?
Who are we relying on to ensure we are being served with integrity and are we considering if they are doing it because they believe in a wholesome lifestyle or are they doing it because it’s simply a booming market to make money off of? 🌿
