Big lessons can come from the stupidest of places. I first started moving my mat around when I practice at home to make my feed more diverse and to get better angles for what I was doing. Stupid reason. .
But I found out with time that this small change of perspective can help boost a flagging body and mind mid practice. And that now I associate different groups of poses with these different mat positions and something in my mind shifts and says "ah, it's lotus time" or "now we do backbends". And that helps my practice immeasurably. Great lesson! .
