I prefer small, more intimate tasting experiences. Some of my favorites are Reverie, Spring Mountain and Caldwell. Reverie hosts you in their mini redwood forest with A.S. Kiken wine. Spring Mountain has a stunning property covered in olive trees - also one of my favorite Cabs. Caldwell has the legendary John F***ing Calwell in a cave and they serve snacks, so... ※※※※※※
Other must-do tastings are Chateau Montelena, Sterling and Cliff Lede. Chateau Montelena won the famous 1976 “Judgement of Paris” wine competition for their Chardonnay. Sterling sits atop a mountain with spectacular valley views and a killer Sauvignon Blanc. Cliff Lede is a rock and roll inspired vineyard with a beautiful tasting courtyard in the Stags Leap District.
