Skytower, Rawyards Park.
This award winning sculpture by @robmulhollandartist, commissioned by @fcscotland, was directly inspired by the location at Rawyards.
Skytower depicts the struggle between man-made structures and the elemental forces of nature; as if in a moment a sudden gust of wind, an unseen and unstoppable force of nature has ripped through the fragile structure, scattering the branches and re-shaping the tower.
The structure stretches up into the sky some six metres and is made from cut lengths of metal rod which have been shaped to resemble sticks and willow. Each metal rod has been welded and interwoven to create the structure. Over six thousand welds and fourteen hundred metres of steel rod have been used to create the structure.
