Red, Blue, Green!
The colours that rule you...
The colours that fool you.... Sri Lanka, since it's so called Independence awarded by the British in 1948, has been under blue, green or rainbow coloured regimes for almost 70 years to date. Its people have relied & believed in different politicians/parties at different times, for various reasons. It's not that Sri Lankans haven't gained anything, but most of the time, a new hope emerges & that hope vanishes in no time thanks to the same politicians who were born to disappoint their supporters. The people of Sri Lanka also have been complaining for years, but it doesn't look like anything is changing. It is high time that the people stop complaining & stop being dependant on anyone. It's high time that WE make the politicians realise that WE are questioning, WE are engaged, WE are informed, WE are concerned & WE have the power above anyone who holds power because of us. If someone gets beaten up by the police & a fellow citizen thinks that it's got nothing to do with them, wait & watch - Karma is a bitch. You know what? That attitude is exactly what makes the government, politicians, authorities to do whatever they want, since they've first-hand experiences in how its people react to the problems of fellow citizens. This isn't what was meant to happen after toppling a cruel regime who used power to abuse its mandate. Where did that go wrong?
Feels like it's just a change of faces, but not the system.
