Ahhh just finished packing this last painting into a suitcase that’s coming with me to ✈️ Chicago. This piece is around 10ft by 11ft, but it folded up nicely 😀. I was thinking recently about how I could combine older pieces with newer pieces in installation form — excited to see how this idea plays out when I’m installing in a few days. “Sweatlodge,” was made back in 2012, and was when I first started sewing screenprinted drawings into my paintings. It’s a piece about cycles: death and rebirth - which definitely aligns with recent work that comes from a place of love and spirituality.
