You asked, and I listened! Today I wore @glossier Lash Slick on one set of eyelashes and #KissMeHeroineMake mascara on another to compare the two. A few things I wanted to find out were: improvement in lash length and curl, smudging, flakiness, and ease of removal. 💕
But first a quick background. I generally struggle finding a good mascara. The biggest problems I have are smudging and flaking. Some of this is due to mascara formulas but being a face toucher doesn't help either. I started using Kiss Me Heroine Make Long and Curl mascara a few weeks ago because I had heard how long lasting it was but that you had to seriously work at getting it off. I've been using Garnier micellar water for waterproof makeup but I still have to really work to get it off. Since I'll be traveling and having nose surgery next month, I wanted a smudge and flake free mascara that washes away a bit easier.
So, back to the comparison. If you scroll through you'll see progress of the two mascaras. The 2nd pic shows the two mascaras after a first application and the 3rd shows them after a second application (I'm a two layer girl). In both of those pics, I'm holding up the mascaras side-by-side corresponding to which eye they were applied to. Glossier went on my right (your left) and Kiss Me went on my left (your right). I found IRL that Kiss Me was a touch longer but think that #Glossier held up nicely compared to it. I never felt "uneven" during the day. 💕
The 4th pic shows how they look later in the morning and the 5th shows how they look right before I washed my face. This one is a good reference because it was around 11p and I had fallen asleep for a few hours (sinuses 🤦), usually a guarantee of flaking mascara. However both held up well with only slight smudging on the side I slept on.
The 6th and final pic shows what my cotton swabs look like post-removal. You'll see that the #LashSlick broke down more with the micellar water and so allowed for an easier cleansing routine. Kiss Me is a slower process of dissolving the formula. 💕
