#filloftheday I'm stuck at home with a pretty bad cold, so until I'm up and running again, here's a repost of a fat tom fill from last year!
Sticking: K RLR L K RLR L K R L R L R L (R+K), starting on beat 1 in a bar of 4/4 and ending on the 'a' of beat 4 in the same bar, so that's one 16th note BEFORE beat 1 in the next bar. The faster strokes on the toms are played as 32nd notes, and all the other strokes in the fill are played as straight 16th notes.
This is a very applicable fill for whenever you want to end on a syncopated 16th note. The bass drum strokes land on the downbeats in the fill, so it's straight to the point all the way up to the syncopated crash stroke at the end, and the fat 32nd notes on the toms give the whole fill a powerful feel with a lot of drive and attitude. Have fun!
