If you happen to be at the Bedok 216 Food Centre in the afternoon, you might notice a long line forming at Hougang Lee Chen which snakes until outside and this is due to their excellent sliced fish soup. Growing up eating this, never once and I am able to get my food in 10-20 minutes. Previously, the auntie will take your order while you wait patiently at your table for the food to be served but in recent times, diners will have to queue up for their food. Nonetheless, the wait is all worth it as you get, in my opinion, my favourite sliced fish soup in Singapore. With a generous amount of fish slices swimming in a clear broth, you will be truly satisfied after the meal. Besides your fish soup, you definitely have to order the side dishes of braised items such as the braised pork belly, pig’s skin, tau pok to go along with your rice. Do note that they closed several days each week and if I don’t remember wrongly, it’s from Sunday to Tuesday, so do check out their opening hours before heading there.
